The church contains paintings by eminent 18th century Neapolitan artists including Nicola Malinconico, Giacomo Del Po, Francesco Solimena and Paolo De Matteis. Malinconico's St Michael the Archangel dominates the High Altar with its dramatic composition and intense colour. The other paintings on the High Altar, The Adoration of the Shepherds and Jesus in the Garden of Olives by Giacomo Del Po, are examples of 18th century Neapolitan painting at its best. | |||||||
